Is anyone else having problems with post?Dorsetbikeloving is

What really p*sses me off about all this is that I commented on the whole mazdaman 'charity' bike thing in a thread a month or so back, and dbl was asking what it was all about! He even said how disgusted he was to hear such a story

I know that its easy to say after the event, but I wondered about him when he first started posting. All those threads about 'whats the most desirable' etc....just seemed like he was picking our brains for something :?

Can Lumos, Development cycles, Chodjin, Barneyrubble, Jimjim please send their details to [email protected]. He has lost your details...

If you say so gov. Girvin Vector forks £40 by the way.

This is what I've been advised by Adam directly by email.

Have other contact details for him if those owed stuff require them...

Didn't he also post a "tale" about buying something from mazdaman, then trying to insist on picking it all up in a transit van?

'cos if all this is true, it's one thing to deny all knowledge, but another to completely invent some "story" to pretend you're someone else?

We really need to start using the Feedback Forum MORE.

It is the only way that we can see what a persons Buying / Selling history is like. We mostly pay by Paypal Gift on here as a way of getting round Fee's.

It should be Mandatory to

Post a Link to your 'Feedback' at the Top of every 'For Sale' post

Also

The For Sale Forum should be locked to Users until they provide a valid Telephone Number and Address Details to a Moderator

I've just sent a load of PM's out to people asking they put Feedback on my Feedback Post. People always thank me via PM but hardly ever seem to post Feedback.

Big money is being spent here and this really needs to be looked at. The fact that the 'For Sale Forum' allows us to seek out parts that are hard to source makes many of us do stupid things with our money. It's one of the downsides of having an obsession it makes you an easy target for tricksters and fraudsters out there.

The appeal of Retrobike includes sourcing and buying rare or NOS items but it appears far too easy for dodgy deals to be done. Perhaps we should look at not using the Paypal Gift option so readily.

Buyer Beware :( sad that we can't trust but this thing with Dorsetbikeloving has I hoped made some of us open our eyes a little bit wider

I'm just as bad as most

but am trawling through my inbox looking at what I've bought recently and will be leaving some feedback

Just been 'Googling' security on Forum For Sale threads and noticed that there are some Forums asking for Telephone verification either by text or call BEFORE being able to post items for sale.

Seems like a good idea but may put people off posting up items for sale.

I think registering followed by a Mod confirming details may be the best bet. There are loads of sites that have the For Sale threads locked or not viewable until registered. Not too sure how hard it will be to setup as I am a registered member of 'Computer Idiots R Us'
