I'm going to harm the next person I see...

I have a Kilauea that's had the dropouts replaced with track ends. But since the original dropouts were broken, I don't feel at all bad about it. It's on the trail* rather than in a skip :)

*OK, in the shed, whatever

This is fine as it is recycling at it's best  but carving dropouts off a frame or removing derailiuer hangers is vandalism :!:

T...er    You could not ride far on a s.s. as your belly would get in the way  It would probably give you a heart attack

I can't be quite that fundamentalist about it. If it's something actually rare, then yes. But if it's commonplace and tatty, then what the hell. If you want to go back to gears, hit ebay for another frame ;-)

I suppose so :? I am an antiques shop owner and each time somebody says "I threw one of those out or I broke one of those" etc. I always think "good that has just made it rarer then ££££££££ :D "
So if I buy all the cheap mtb frames and wait until you have destroyed the rest I will be quids in
