1992 for me best bike year ever!!!

Bought a super fast Bravado, ditched the burd, ditched the job did loads of riding for a whole year trouble free 8)

Fun times, sadly missed

1992 was the best bike year

For MTB I'd go back to 92/93....was the year I did the most racing and really got passionate about it.

Other than that 97 would be good...was at university at the time and discovered trails (BMX). The riding scene was just the best...hanging out and buiding new jumps with mates whllst having a few beers was fun :D

i'd have locked my 1992 zaskar/pantera (was never sure which it was) properly in about 1999. then i'd have taken it home and sold it and bought something i liked.

from a biking few point ;

id like to go back to 1998, tell myself that a car does not replace a bike and carry on into my 3rd year riding street trials, and hopefully today, i would be shit hot, instead of just shit.

or, , more relavent to how i ride these days, go back to 1996, telll myself that trials is just a fad and not to butcher my lovely Parkpre Pro825 for said fad.

plenty of other things id like to change, mostly woman, holidays, cars and p1ssing all my cash up the wall. but damn what doesnt kill you makes you stronger :?

Lee Development - sad storey, I dont know if I could have coped as well as you. 8)

'99, the year before I had started racing again but by early 99 was going well again, racing somewhere near the front in experts and 3rd overall after two rounds of the national series at thetford and dumfries and looking to move up to elite, then at a gorrick in late may i crashed, broke my collarbone and when i started riding again had problems with my knee, lost interest and that was that :(

Pickle - cracking photo, I must be the same age as you and raced in youths upto mid '95, I remember the Pro Circuit team but can't remember any names other than Chris Balls I think(?). My dad also took loads of photos from back then, I will try and scan them in at some point for a bit of BITD reminesence lol.

Thats a great picture Pickle, i agree its like a painting. How old were you when you were racing?

Through the Winter Series, I was 15.

I raced from the age of 12 until I was about 18/19.

jesus you look like a grown man!

for me 1997. the year i got a car and stopped riding first to work and then almost completely. it was also the year i messed my head up good and propper which i think is the cause of why i am the way i am now. not that i am a psycho or anything, just lacking in confidence.

i'd do it very differently

:D 8)

Back then, Pro-Circuit youth team was me (Jonathan Lee) and Paul Hanks.

Competition came from Chris Balls and Gavin Buxton (both VC Norwich), Peter Middlehurst, Chris ***** (Elmly Cycles), Will Packer etc.

You get some pics, I'll get some old race results and we'll reminise for a bit! 8)

92-94 Set off on a bike ride for a few months lasted a bit longer than that raced in the US on the east coast with a trip to west coast to race for a few weeks.

or

96-97 Endless summers raced in Australia and NZ this was the big one it took 2 years of planing, well 22 months of dreaming and 2 months of planing. Doing some of the wildest races in the world.
