if you're running eight speed then it should be fine. I think XTR 9 speed had a slightly larger top jockey (one tooth extra IIRC). The main difference is that XTR uses sealed bearings and ceramic bushes rather than bits of metal and plastic. I think the bolt size is the same (although I'm willing to be shot down in flames at this moment)
 
Tacx jockey wheels come with spacers to fit most mechs. They work fine and have a proper cartridge bearing. Normally about £10 for the pair
