I got rid of my jag today

They were not all that bad, I have used them as well as many other off roaders and would put them up there when it comes to on and off road use.

If I was off road for more than 40% of the time it would be a Defender if I was going the Landy route again, but they are not as comfortable and capacious.

Sure, they had reliability problems, but without that where would the charm of British made be?

I guess some must have been ok... just none that I have ever encountered ;)

Capacious?? The 2 or 3 I've ridden in have been cramped up front, worse in the back and load space not as big as Jap LWB 4x4's..
Useless for shooting out of the rear side windows too.. the fronts weren't that great either :?

And they don't handle ditches too well (it wasn't anything to do with me.. honesy guv )...

I could never agree that they are as good as their equivalent in other marques, worth the value they hold so well or worth the hassle of owning one..
Only going by the ones I know about personally and the ones former owners have told me about..

Defender is a different kettle of fish entirely..

Moot anyway, mm didn't buy a Disco..

I did nearly buy a ford puma though.....dont tell anyone

I like those.. especially the 'sport' one..

Not much space for me, the missus, 4 dogs and 6 ferrets though :?

We already have one freelander 1.8 for work....it is sooooooooo unreliable that to make life more exciting we now have 2

wifes freelander has been owned for 4 years and has had;

New engine
new clutch
new calipers
new rear viscous coupling
new alternator
then the new engine had to have a new head gasket last year

it has broken down five times four of which left us stranded miles from anywhere....ohhhhh the joys of british motor ownership are manyfold

So I bought the v6 sport one with full leather yada yada yada.....one owner and 7 years newer than the jag...also low mileage.......bring it on

Dont knock puma's they are fun little cars and cheap to run BUT most are going rusty now :-( and they really need a nice turbo'd 2.0 in them ;-)

WD :D

my V8 disco was actually pretty good - apart from mpg and ongoing corrosion issues - had it for 10 years, sob. Never got stuck, pulled many folk out of snowstorms, and didn't recoil after being hit by a deer.

Sold it. Bought a 1967 Series 2. Fek.
