HONC 2017

Re:

Hello Folks, Velo here from up in Jockland :D

I have signed up for this as entry 829.

I signed up as I reckon it might be a good practice for Mayhem but not the cycling bit. The bit I'm practicing is the driving bit as the distance is a fearful thought I need to start getting to grip with

Only just past my driving test at 47 years old, just got a car which is a little bit worn and battered and so far have not had the courage to get on a motorway. So all the way to Gloucestershire is a very frightening prospect.

There is a real chance I will chicken out but at £20 I can take the hit if I do.

So as regards seeing you lot in April its a case of Mibee's Aye, Mibee's No

Cheers

Fair play to you! What did you get?

Re:

When I travel from Weston-s-Mare to Oban (and back) every other year I drive overnight, as you can take your time, the traffic is very light, you can stop at every services if you want to and there are no traffic jams.

Here's hoping we see you at HONC, and Mayhem.

Re:

I will consider the night time option but I'm not much of a night time person. I cannot work night shifts as I often feel physically ill around 3-5 am. So we shall see.

As for car its a Citroen C3 1.4 litre from 2003. Everything seems to work after a fashion, gearbox is a bit clunky with the odd false neutral and the need to be firm with engaging reverse but its pretty comfortable If it passes its upcoming MOT without too much need for work then I reckon it'll happily do the distance.
