Hi from newbie

welcome.... You WILL end up with a garage full of bikes/bits, an empty wallet and an annoyed other half! You have been warned!

I've been here just over a year.... only had 1 frame when I started.... now I have 3 full bikes and enough frames/forks and bits for another 2...

Run Away!

That's a bit half hearted. February, first bike. Four have moved on. Rest in sig.

I have a wonderful wife. And a shed.

Nah in all seriousness, welcome it is a great forum with loads of great peeps and lots of stuff on it I never knew about. I love it but.. It is very easy to be tempted into more retro goodness!

I will try and remember to take some photos of the Yeti during re-build and post them on this forum. it should be an interesting exercise?! I'm hoping to salvage the running gear, mostly Shimano XT parts dating back 15 years? Over bar thumb shifters, short cage rear mech, Magura hydraulic rim brakes + the legendary Amp forks!

Only problem I have, what with winter here, is finding the motivation to start the project. To be honest though, I do prefer the overall riding characteristics of the Yeti compared to the Klein, so that should inspire me to pull my finger out and get on with it.

I need a tad of advice on how to upload photos onto the forum. Please accept my apologies, I'm as thick as a whale omelette when it comes to computer technology

PC and I have some photos in my pictures directory. From memory, if you upload pictures you have to size them correctly?? or maybe I would be better having something like a Flickr account and a link ? It's all very confusing

Size is key unless you do it via link. I don't so I use minima app to shrink them before using full editor button below. Then choose a file, then add file.

Personally I use the Microsoft picture manager programme. Just open the pic, click edit pictures, choose compress pictures... Then I usually use the documents option as this takes them down to less than 512kb.

To post open a post.... At the bottom under the text box pick the choose file button.... Browse and find your pic on your PC.... Click the add the file button.... A bit of grunting later and the page will refresh look at the bottom of the text box and there will be attachments line with a button saying place inline this enables you to put pics in your posts :D
