Even though they are a little mushy I don't mind the look of that one and they do have a place in mtb history.

If it was a lot closer to home I'd consider grabbing it, cleaning it up and using it for the occasional ride.

theres one on ebay at the moment that has had the elastomers replaced with a sid rear shock.

Would help the bobbing no end.

Lets face it, if it was all about function we would not be into Retro mountain bikes (I have a proflex :roll: ).

Yeah I actually think it looks pretty cool too... love the look of that rear bridge and the big shock. Reminds me of an off-road motorcycle I wonder how this sort of bike would do in downhill...

cheers for the comments guys..... whatever has been said about them in the past, it is a good looking bike and it will cope with anything you throw at it!

.....depends on the type of downhill really. it absolutely loves fire tracks, its why i put the 48 tooth ring on it. obviously not really suited to bumpy competition runs though.

even took it up chicksands bike park a few times last year took it round the northshore, did a few drops and even a dirt jump or two!! yes i did get a few confused looks from some kiddies on single speeds......

just so you guys know, i dont mind posting it or traveling 20 or 30 odd miles too meet somewhere given the right circumstances.
