Help me I.D. a GT.

I found this one recently and it has me a little stumped. It appears to be an early Zaskar because the serial number is on the rear dropout not on the BB shell however most Zaskars have replaceable derailler hangers and they usually have the size stamped on the dropout as well. h1n04096 is the serial number. The rear U-brake mount makes me think it is a 96 model. GT experts please give me a hand.

Disclaimer: I intend to strip this bike and sell the frame and fork and keep the rest. I know some people get upset when you ask for info and then sell the bike.

That was a typo. I think it is a 93. Mombat has one that is almost identical. U-brakes, no replaceable hanger and no size stamp. The future shock is pretty cool and it actually still works! Non- drive side crank is cracked though. I was after the wheels for my Ultra. It came with nice clean Ritchey vantage comp rims on XT hubs. It looks like it had paint at some point. I am going to strip it and polish the hell out of it. If it comes out nice I may just keep it. I have a whole array of blue ano stuff that has been waiting for something.

Early ones (91-92) had non replaceable mech hangers, like this one.

The older Zaskars LE (like my previous) had these kind of dropouts, but the framenumbers did only have numbers....
And the chainstay, where welded on the dropout was flar

I assume you mean flat which these are. I believe it is possibly an avalance not a Pantera. There are a few differences on pantera frames. This one is exactly like a Zaskar with the exception of the serial number having letters so I think that points to it being an early avalanche. Can anyone tell me what year they started making both models?
