prob a pantera, or an Avalanche Al

Did these also have the flat cap on the end of the top tube ?, sure i read somewhere only the Zaskar had this.

Also does'nt a Zaskar have 6061 stamped on the dropout ?, Panteras and Avelanches being 7005.

The older Zaskars LE (like my previous) had these kind of dropouts, but the framenumbers did only have numbers....
And the chainstay, where welded on the dropout was flar
I assume you mean flat which these are. I believe it is possibly an avalance not a Pantera. There are a few differences on pantera frames. This one is exactly like a Zaskar with the exception of the serial number having letters so I think that points to it being an early avalanche. Can anyone tell me what year they started making both models?

Early 90's Avalanches were always steel. The first Avalanche AL came out in 1993, but had a two bolt replaceable drop-out. The first Pantera was realeased in 1992 and had a flat top tube cap at the seat cluster. It didn't have a replaceable dropout.
therefore I strongly suspect that you've got a 1992 Pantera which has been stripped and has a 1994/1995 decal kit on it.

GM will know though...

my mate's pantera was 1991-ish, was blue with white splatter finish and came with a Suntour groupset inc those awfull xpress shifters.
