Thanks for all the help folks. Those caps came off very easily using an Israeli 1 shekel piece and some pliers! The seat post came out after some serious elbow grease also.

Now, to ask a stupid question - the 14mm bolts on the crank are ordinary threads, right? As in, you turn them anti-clockwise... I've had them soaking in GT85 for 3 days and managed to finally budge the drive side one today but the left hand one will not move.

Yep, right hand thread both sides. Lefty loosy Righty Tighty as they say

Plusgas and a breaker bar. Soak the taper in plusgas at the same time and make sure you use a decent crank puller, not an eBay one out of a cracker.
