HED wheels retro ??

Hi guys,

I like to have some more information about the HED mtb wheels. There are two types, for downhill and cross country but how can you identify these?
The website of HED is bad, not enough info on it.
Are these serious wheels for mountain biking or better for show ?
Can all types of hubs be used?
Are the spokes still available?
Can the rims be used for a new rebuild with other hubs?

Thanks in advance.

Cheers, JC

The downhill version (which I have) has a heavier, sturdier rim. As it's essentially a carbon aerofoil bonded to a rim, any type of hub/spokes can be used (mine has Ringlé and bladed spokes).
Pricey bitd, retail on my rear wheel was £450!
