Manitous too fragile & ok for canal paths but the Zasky can still be thrown down a hill & come back for more!

Zaskar any day... Had one and had to sell it :-( Zaskars are bomb-proof... those Manitou frames seem to crack even from looking at them too hard

What you need to do is STOP LOOKING!
As soon as you stop, then 10 will all appear at once and you'll have your pick...

I had a Manitou FS and it handled lovely, but as with it seems every other Manitou on the planet, was so full of cracks. The only Manitous left without cracks are the ones the owners haven't looked at for 5 minutes, as they too now have cracks...
zaskars seem to be fairly bombproof (of course any frame can fail, a friend broke a new one back in the day) and rarely seem to crack. I assume they handle pretty similar to a xizang, and I find they handle great.l

My money would go to a Zaskar if it were me.

There are definitely 2 separate answers to this in my mind.

The Zaskar is undeniably the better frame (just look at how many of them are still going strong).

However, I'd much rather have a Manitou HT provided it wasn't cracked!

If the Manitou had been fabricated from 6061 or 7005 wit a wall diameter thicker than a coke can there would be more out there to choose from

My FS has 2 cracks in the headtube and some smaller ones by the bottle bosses (thankfully not a structural area...)

Yeah that usually seems to be the way it works, though if you take ur eye off the forum for five minutes and something comes up someone usually swipes it before you get the chance

Seems to be what everyone has said, its a reputation that put me off buying one for £250 last week. I want something thas going to last, and not worry about it breaking all the time

Zaskar everyday, only frame to win both XC & DH.

Keep looking, 1 will turn up & you'll be glad you waited.

My mate found mine looking like utter crap at a car boot for £20, full bike, but made a lot of changes since.

It's 16" frame & NOT for sale :D

Good luck with the search.
