Hi all this is the log for the rebuild of my newly acquired 1994 GT tequesta . Now I was going to do a full resto but as time has gone on I've decided to adorn it with some 90's loveliness such as shimano lx gear changing - some Manitous as I always wanted some but could never afford back then so I have a set of comps but have a set of 3's and another comp on there way from snowy Canada and braking is courtesy of Magura hs33 racelines the paint I think will be white as I'm not a lover of either colour this bike was available in originally ( black and red ) decals will be from gill m naturally! Have a look at the pics of bits I have so far

Ooooh looking forward to watching this one. Looks the same size as my little Talera project - looks like yours will be worth the effort though 8)

unfortunatly when rubbing down the frame today i found some subastantial craks and splits in the frame around seat tube clamp area all under the paint maybe someone has wedged a larger than std seatpost in it but i only paid £15 for it so cost of welding it up will be far more also found one on seat stay so i think as i actually want to ride it ill look for anew frame gutted really but i want to ride one thats safe to ..

Aww no, that's rubbish :( There's a nice little one on the 'bay at the mo' - bit more modern than yours but maybe worth a look.

Still waiting on the verdict on my Talera - not heard back from the lbs yet - I guess they're still swinging on a 50ft wrench trying to get that BB out

I have a 92 Avalanche , it has a few cracks in the seat tube and the b/b , been like this for 6 ish years now , still in one piece , buit as a singlespeed , not jumped off stuff , mearly trail ridden , don't give up on it yet

Mike

Re:

Ok well after finding cracks and splits in the GT I can't myself ride it like that as I'll always be thinking what if / when will it go) so I have to end this log I have a new frame coming all paid for so for this thread it's good bye but new thread opening
