GT LTS 1000 XC?

Does anyone know the difference between the LTS 1000 DS and XC models? I've found what I believe is an XC frame (not sure it is as most of the decals are missing) for sale. It has an XTR rear mech and XT front mech and brakes. Looking at Bikepedia the kit on it looks pretty similar to a DS, but I can't find any info on an XC. Is the XC a higher or lower model than the DS and any ideas on its original equipment spec?

From memory the ds had dual crown forks and I think disc brakes

you're right

I've just looked in the GT catalogues in the archives - the XC had Bomber Z1s and V brakes. So I'm guessing it was slight cheaper than a DS back in the day

LTS 1000XC

Both the same price actually (c.£2,100) - the "DH" came with Judy XLs and a Rock Shox (aka AMP) front disc. Or in other words, was much less well equipped for DH than the Z1 equipped XC. Hence my purchase of the XC back in '98 for DH duties
