Thought it might be a 97 Bravado same as drystonepaul's BUT drop outs and flat end cap screams Lightning to me.

Little put off by the rust on the headtube but seen similar before.

Fair play for outing this as I expect it would have been missed 8)

Could have been bargain of the year but now let the bidding war begin!!!

But it's still a lightning. Stop outbidding me! Gosh! :)
I need to replace my too small for me really Zaskar frame.

Just lets all make a list of what we're putting into Gixen................ ;)

I almost feel sorry for the guy selling this as he probably has no idea what he's got. I reckon there may be a few more bids now as in the Q&A section at the bottom of the listing he has confirmed it is a lightning with his answer to the Q about what is written on the rear plate!

There are only two GT frames that ever utilized those dropouts.....Xizang and Lightning and it's not a Xizang. Obviously the seller with a eBay history of "1" has no idea what it is or what it's worth. Anybody over there have one stolen recently. Guessing it could be.

OK all you UK guys that I've shipped stuff for....gm's calling in a favor.

Giles..SHAME ON YOU for openly asking the seller to break eBay protocol. You sir and the rest like you should be banned for life!!! My guess is the 2nd question asked could put an end to the listing now that the frame material type is out on a billboard. The lister responded with what is on a Lightning top tube end cap.

Funny how the lister and poster are both newbies???

I think i would exercise caution, seems to me the guy does know about bikes, enough anyway his previous purchase was for a bike hoist he has all the tools and enough knowledge to disassemble and spot when a frame is not straight, know what its made off, and doesnt offer cash on collection. why has he left the manky old cranks on the GT also, are the threads intact?
if he didnt know about the GT he sure does now, and it is very interesting that the poster and the seller are both new.

think it could be a hustle myself, the diamond in a mountain of junk scam.
if as a new seller on ebay someone offered me to name my price for a frame, and i was moving house and could easily set up a new ebay account, i would snap their hands off

whats that they say, if it seems to good to be true

it does seem a bit fishy,i'm quite local and asked if i could go round and have a look - no chance.i hope it is genuine but now that the cat is out of the bag i fear it's going to generate too much interest to be the bargain of the year.
