That frame even has a Saturn Team serial number so has some serious race pedigree by some excellent cyclist.

Hah, I emailed you -- yeah, I got it. I've been hunting for a Longmont built bike (ideally would have been a US Team frame) for a while, glad to hear it caught your eye. I'm thinking it might have belonged to Eric Carter who was an ex-GT/Saturn MTB team rider, but no way to confirm...

Tom Schuler (Former 7/11 road pro) might be able to tell you as he was the owner/manager of the Saturn Team back in the day. Riders like Fred Rodriquez, Chris Horner, Levi Leiheimer, McCormack Bros many of the top US Cyclists raced for Saturn. Bigger frame and certainly may have belonged to one of them. Did you ask the seller where he got it? I do know one person that has the serial number list of who welded most of the frames at the GT Tech Shop may be able to find out from him also.

The seller is a pawn shop and wasn't hugely forthcoming, unfortunately. The serial is SAT 9799 if you happen to see the serial list -- I'd love to know one way or the other. It's a shame the paint is so beat, I'd love to get it cleaned up but at the same time it won't be original anymore :/
