Hi there!

So, this is a nice simple one and I am sure that everyone has their own way, but what do people recommend as a way to get grips on nice and easy? I always fight through the process with nothing - you can't beat a grip that's got nothing between it and the bar!

Anyhow, the raceface grips I have just bought are really putting up a fight  and any tips would be welcomed. Should i keep them all beautifully in the pack since the demise of raceface....?!

Thanks

Dan

Hairspray is your friend.. spray the bars (only the bit that the grips will cover) and inside the grip. . .

I use water. Dip them in a cup of water and they slide on nicely, then the water evaporates and they are are stuck on like glue.

To reverse the process I push a plastic/wooden lolly stick down between the grip and the handlebar and pour water down the gap and twist the grip. Hey presto, off it slides 8) .

+1

Sometimes I use an old spoke (carefully) to help get the 'spray down the end.

Thanks folks! I have heard the hairspray one, but can count my hairs on one hand so don't really have any to use! I will raid the girlfriends room for some when I see her.

Water it is for now until then. Thanks for the tips folks :D

I use a squirt of GT85.

Probably knackers them in the long run, but it's always worked for fitting and removal, and they always seem to stick fast once it's evaporated..

I've had the same can of hairspray in the lubes'n'oils box (snigger) since '95. Retro-spray. There's probably a site for that somewhere...

Bought a cheap tin from the local supermarket about a year ago. . does the job and I reckon I'll lose it before it runs out :?

On the motorbikes grips we always used Elnette for some reason.. probably because that's what Mum had on her dresser
