Great Dane pups coming on well

we rushed into buying it to be honest, so had to sit and read up as much as possible before we got her....but the seller has since drove to see her progress and is on facebook keeping an eye on it and is impressed.

the weeing indoors was a pain to start but its almost wiped out, just the rare time when my girlfriend couldnt stay up late enough to put it out last thing at night.

it gets 2 cup fulls of food per serving, dry, no more than 3 times per day, food and water are lifted off the floor now it can reach the bowls and we give it nothing after 6pm.

she can now be put outside and she will wee on command, same as her teacup yorkie, wich is awesome.

shes good in the car and can be left alone, though she rarely is bar the 2hrs the missus goes to her school job each day, where the dog sleeps it off.

House training is easy..
When it wakes, put it out to pee/poop. After play, put it out to pee/poop. After feeding, put it out to pee/poop.

Not quite sure it'd work with a giant but crates are (normally) worth their weight in furniture/carpet.

I thought 6-8 was average for Danes but websites now are stating 10 is average. Which would be nice, not sure how much I'd rely on that though.

Watch those massive bones.. tooth damage is a very real risk.

yeah, thast what we have been doing, soon as it wakes up or has been out, its straight into the yard.

had to drag it out to begin but it knows the routine now.

strangely, it rarely pee's on a walk, and never poops....waiting until it gets back home and then goes into yard, like clockwork!

My Collie was like that for ages (after housetraining).. and he only used to pee once or twice a day too.. timed him at over a minute once or twice..

I was hoping that he'd stay that way and only poop in the garden, not outside, but he soon started that too.

its strange, as it pees on demand every time.

the little dog poops outdoors morning then on a walk later but not the dane.

often if i have them out for an hour or more, when i get home its desperate soon as its back and in the yard.

its mad how much it has grown in just the past month alone.....

as a baby...

On the poop front..because thier stomach is so small time her..roughly from feed to poop then try and time the walks so just when you think she might need one ..then take her for a walk..the small stomach does need some retraining

one thing i did notice particulary on the beach and off the lead..people love them absolutely but when they start to run and you see this mahoosive dog running in your direction some parents get shit scared and become offensive despite the danes being one of the most passive dogs ever

me ex was about 5ft and when woof stood he was even at 18 months far far taller than her..made i giggle

its the one thing she doesnt do right, though isnt a real issue, i guess when we have her out for all day trips she will learn its ok.

my pups dad for you to see.....think he was 18 months in this pic.
