Apparently it is made of something they call 'technoplastic'. To be honest I am not sure what this material is; it is possible it is 'better' than carbon fibre

It's probably either a UD molded carbon composite, or some sort of a long fibre injection moulded carbon.
Not "better" just different properties.

I gave up on campag in about 97/98, had a mixture of 8 speed record and chorus on a custom steel frame.
The replacement equivalent group would have been about half as much again at retail (ok, out of the back of the comic) as dura ace. So the decision was made.

Then someone offered me DA at less than cost.
