Gone but not forgotten ....... Picture thread

No not a remorseful thread about dead things but a celebration of bikes loved.

Up until joining this site I had pretty much been a one bike kind of person. It was only the purchase of an older bike to use for commuting that lead m to this site

Since then it has been a bit of a whirlwind of a bike experience

Whilst none of the flock have been particularly rare or exciting they have had their place and I have enjoyed them.

It was only flicking through photos that made me think :shock: :shock: owned a few over the last three years

So here are a few pics of ones that are gone but not forgotten:

Looking at the bikes that have passed through your hands I feel very lucky. Since joining RB I have only sold 3 bikes. Bought plenty but only seen 3 leave my ownership. My not-so-retro Kona Cinder Cone, Marin 'the bike that tried to kill me twice' Mount Vision and a modern Trek road bike. Don't regret either sale.

The Kona and Trek both got me back into cycling with some sort of fitness so they did a good job. The Marin was an impulse buy that never really felt right. Perhaps it's the bikes we grow with are the ones we keep the longest.

BTW have 2 more bikes in the pipeline, one retro and one modern. Don't tell the mrs.

I love the second picture you posted there. To me it captures the absolute essence of summer mountain biking in Britain. I can just feel the soft breeze...
