as some of you know i won a mint mk3 golf gti colour comcept on ebay on saturday. arranged collection for monday (seller couldnt do sat night or sunday...) :?

anyway set off and sent the guy a text with my eta. reply came back "dont bother, its sold"! i was absolutely livid. his reason for selling to someone else "i started asking all sorts of questions". all i wanted was the reference number off the log book to verify the mileage as it sounded too good to be true. probably was.

anyway, through anger, frustration and for no good reason i have bought a skoda pick up. without even driving it. i will love her, cherish her and pamper her till the day she breaks my heart, then i will keep on loving her

Put a Corrado 2.9 VR6 lump in it Dave and have fun at the traffic lights

i'll supply the engine if you supply the fuel.

the golf isnt the best colour in the world but finding a mk3 in such good condition with low miles for a grand is hard enough, let alone it being a colour concept

colour concept? he just had it painted yellow right? ➡️ :?:

mmm corrado!

colour concept was a lomitted edition of the 8 valve gti's.t ehy tended to have all the optional extras. they were only available in yelloy, green, blue black and red. the yellow ones were very popular at the time but black hold their prices well.

the interiors were all 2 tone leather from factory (apart from the black car which ahd a straight black interior). colour concept interiors sell for £600 plus on ebay. they are made by recaro.

they have a couple of colour concept badges on the rear door/quarter panel if 3 door and had differnt clocks. cant remember how many were made but it wasnt many

Poor, poor show. Quite like that in a late 90s volvo t5 kind of way.

You can make some interesting (and apt) anagrams out of the sellers name though.

Have to question the wisdom of buying the pick up on the rebound though.

t'was cheap and there's a bit of a niche market for commercials with lowered suspension and alloys (i intend do do both) so i'm confident i'll see my money back when i get sensible again. the wife has a propper car so this is a bit of a toy i guess
