Getting compo out of Royal Fail? Blood-stone?

Long story short; I bought a used hardcore MTB steel frame. in May...

It almost got lost, it took 16 days! so was at one point lost.

It had been dropped/bashed on its end making the dropout(alloy swapout) bend in sideways and inwards. enought force made a small dimple on the seat stay. Its a tough nut so I'm sure the dropouts could be bent and used with minor concern but getting compo off Royal fail has been impossible.
First complaint got me book of stamps :(
second complain got me naff all.
RF review panel (third) got me final letter and 6 more stamps (FFS but better than nowt)

I'm not sure I CBA to go to the next review panel people :( spent too long on it already. they say i was reluctant to bring in the packings. Truth is i went to my PO and sorting office witha cumbersome box in the car and they gave me the form, i submitted 4 A4 pics along with explainations.

I've found this all very annoying and just glad it wasnt properly fragile. I told them I'm unlikely to use them again given the choice and available competition, and told them that bad service news spreads fast these days...

so there ya go.

What would you do? i'm tempted to give it up now. fourth letter. :?

Have a go at the seller. You paid him to deliver the frame safely. If he failed to deliver it intact, and failed to insure it, it's up to him to cough up.
Harsh for him, but there you go...

I think this is part of the prob, it did cut itself out of the box a bit too easy, and could have been wrapped up a bit better, but he was good to find out off RM and send me the receipt recorded delivery plus it obviously got lost in a dangerous corner of a depot/office/truck somewhere. so on this occasion I'm not going to pursue it with the seller, though lesson learnt i've annoyingly asked all sellers since to take loads of care. sounds obvious but its gotta be said.

So my options are now, complain once more, cos its not good service IMO considering the time and care. or bend it back and transparently sell it on. (plans have changed over these months and I've bought summat else).

maybe you could complain to a higher force?
manager of said depot or something?
hand deliver a letter and demand to speak to someone?

depends how far you would want to go
If you did want to pursue it
I reckon talk to someone who may pay a bit more attention than pat

Thanks for your thoughts and suggestions. Had I paid a lot more for it I would have been more angry but for what it cost I'm starting to waste time, though another letter may not hurt too much.

The seller passed on the receipt as his PO said I needed to take the package to my PO, which I did and then they said it had to go to local sorting office, so took it there and first guy said I was wrong and his coleague said he was wrong and gave me a form to fill which I sent with pics.

Like lots of things in life it's not till the mistakes happen you learn how to avoid future ones.

Piccie, This old dog has some milage in it yet but to dimple a tough frame like this took some carelessness. PS, the seat stays do not appear to be bent but look here it due to angle of pic.

Whenever I've had complaints with companies, and not had the response I want, I don't labour the point at the same level. I go right to the top. So CEO or MD or equivalent.

You will rarely get actual attention from them, but they / their office / their assistant tend to want it dealt with in a way good for the company / organisation. They may refer you to some escalation procedure - but let them know you won't stop pestering them until you've received a more equitable response.

This.

Why should you be chasing around? It's the seller's responsibility end of story. Packaging was insufficient. If it was Amazon or another retailer you wouldn't be chasing RM yourself.

Get a Paypal claim in. If you've got the receipt he's not even got proof he sent you it (not that proof of posting means anything to Paypal). If it wasn't sent tracked Paypal will pay out (and you'd keep the frame). That's if the seller doesn't do the decent thing first.

Double win. It's the only way some people get the message. Assuming you paid by PP that is.
