today we went Geocaching in the local forest as a way to get the kids out on their bikes, they moan when I suggest a ride! nah you go to fast, you go up hills, its to hard ...... and so on .... so as a way to break up the rideing and give them something else to do off, we went and they loved it
we still did nearly the same routes as usual and on a couple of time back tracked up and down the same trails but they soon forgot about that as they had a target to reach and a small tupperware box to find
can highly recomend it as a way to get out there and it break up a ride into small sections and entertain the kids, oh ok and us adults
you need a gps device and possibly a map? but if you have a gps equiped smart phone/iphone you can download an app for a few quid and your off, no need for £400+ gps devices as in the end its all down to looking with your eyes in the undergrowth for the hidden treasure, oh and take a pen/pencil DOH! we didnt
