it was 'theft' apparently.
Jobsworth. That's what's wrong with my sh*t country i told him.
needless to say, i didn't rescue the video. (yup, I'm still using tapes. )
I agree with you LGF, I miss it all too. Radios with dials that you can fine tune rather than have a garbled digital noise when it's not great reception.
As has been said. The digital backlash has begun. And it started in my front room. I might get a blue plaque for the house. .

Slightly off topic - my mate was rather alarmed at the fact that his local council controlled tip dont allow ANYTHING that takes batteries or has a 'lead' to be resold. It all gets broken up. Radios, freeview boxes, ANYTHING is now broken up.
Neither 'green' nor economically sound.
It will be bikes next via some daft H&S rule
The Sony pictured is 30 years old and just needs a belt replaced...
Cant do that with an iPod.
And it all started with the de-regulation of Solicitors being able to advertise, leading to "No win no fee" adverts then people suing the council because they are an easy target then leading to H&S UK.
So now if anyone bought anything with a lead, plug it in and they injured themselves they will sue the council. For things to be sold on they need to be PAT tested
