its funny cause for decades everyone basically acknowledge that happiness didn't exactly mean marriage, but all of a sudden if you're gay and together to achieve full happiness you have to be married and everyone has to accept your opinion or otherwise you're homophobic and stuff like that.
I'm not giving my opinion on gay marriage, its just an outside view of the usual debate.

Read what I said, "he represents scottish catholics" nothing at all about the church of scotland! BTW marrage is not the exclusive right of any religion it is a state given right, so there is no need to invent another religion for gay folk but yet again another shining example of inclusion :roll:

well, yeah but its my opinion on others opinions and debates, lets say discussion, but not specifically related to the subject of supporting gay marriage or not.
Now I don't believe that marriage will fulfill me, but then I defend those who believe in it, and I support them truly. Ill be a proud best men of one of my best friends soon.
I just don't buy when they use that reason to justify happiness. I prefer when you use reasonable things like "how can I justify to my boss I need to stay at home cause my girl is sick" Wife will give you a much more strong justification.

A good relationship can add to happiness; it really does not matter if marriage is involved. I agree the marriage part is superfluous.

My friend and his partner have been together 22 years. Same sex marriage has been legal here in Ontario for 10 years, Canada wide for 7. I asked them a few years ago why they never got married, and they both said it wouldn't make any difference in their case.

Now, carry on with your generalizations.

Sorry, its how things are argued here in Portugal and in some European country's. Now its legal, but I recall their campaign and this was one of their main goals, to achieve full happiness through marriage "like everybody else". My point was on to criticize their approach, more or less like the gay parades. Its all about confrontation. They can be head to toes with reason on their side, now the arguments are rubbish, and the ad hominem thing too when your opinion is different from theirs. Zero tolerance here. If your against their view, you will be literally arrased and insulted. Its kinda of ironic, they proclaim freedom, but you're not entitled to have your own opinion if it is against them.
