Gary Fisher CR7

Retro Newbie
Guys/Girls, just joined the site. I have a CR7 that I rode the entire length of Australia on in 1990. Would dearly love to restore it. Any advise on where I could get hold of the original decals ( mine were shot blasted off in the desert).

The bike was purchased in Australia after my Marin was stolen in a Backpackers. When I got it home it went into the attic and hasn't been ridden since so other then one epic adventure it structurally sound. Any advise gratefully accepted.

Nice! Definitely worth restoring. But you'll be extremely lucky if you find original decals.

Contact Gil at Retrodecals for very good reproduction ones. He may have what you're looking for. I've used them before and wouldn't hesitate to use them again.

Re:

Thanks for all the good advise. I'll get onto it today.
Will try and post some pics of it when it was in Australia and when it's looking good again. Certainly was the most exciting frame around at the time, do they still hold the same popularity all these years down the line?

Re:

This is Retrobike - anything old (rusty or shiny) is popular. Even more so if you have photos. :D

If you have a look around the Readers MTBs --> 97 page you'll find a few Fishers now and again, and there's another CR-7 in the For Sale section at the moment.

You'll find Fisher catalogues going way back in the Archive & Gallery.

Go for it!
