Garage break in

Came out of the house this morning to find the rear garage door open and my two modern bikes outside by the gate. B**tards have forced the locks off and got in sometime during the night.

Here's the strange thing.... nothing taken (as far as I can tell). My bikes have been sorted through, modern ones picked out, and retro bikes piled to one side.

The scumbags must have been disturbed and legged it without the loot and both bikes look like they,ve been out in the rain all night. To be honest I really wish they had taken them because now they know they're there they'll be back for sure.

Just waiting for the wife to come back from dropping the kids off then I'm off to B&Q to invest in some better locks and an alarm.

I've read other peoples problems on this forum that make this look pathetic but never the less it gets you down .

Got a security light but I'm not 100% sure if the PIR pick you up by the garage door. I know I've got to up my security, this is probably the kick up the arse I need to do it.

i know its illegal.. but 240volts passing across the garage door will do it every time... heres wishing we could do that..

That got me thinking... Just looked up the laws on such things, apparently if some scumbag tresspassing on your property, stealing your stuff etc injures themselves they can sue you! this seems rather wrong :roll:

However you can have razor wire and such like defending your property as long as it's not intruding on public land and you have a sign warning intruders of such things, if it's signed then it'll be the scumbags own fault if he or she gets hurt, also if you happen to catch them in the act you are now allowed to give them a good kick in as long as it's on instinct, sleeping with a shotgun under your pillow would be deemed pre-meditated :evil:

Me thinks the LAW leans towards the criminals.. you have no rights to protect your property or family... :evil: :evil:

the police gave me a sound alarm set off by movement to put inside my old garage for free run off batteries, their pretty good as the scum can't see them till it's too late
