You could just ask me.
I go back and forth with international shipping. Almost without fail, I end up with at least one issue with international shipping. When that happens, I'm not inclined to deal with the headaches in order to make a few more bucks.
I only ship UPS tracked and insured and here's why:
I had a package go to Spain and the buyer claimed he did not receive it. He did not contact me directly...just opened up a claim with PayPal that I had not shipped this item. If I was unable to produce PROOF that I had shipped this item, they would have pulled the money from my account. Because I used UPS, I was able to provide a tracking number.
Now I know USPS is cheaper....but that is only if I use an international flat rate or surface mail. No tracking or proof of delivery. If that package gets damaged or lost...you might save a few bucks on shipping...but I lose the item and the money. If you want to use USPS and have the added features of delivery confirmation or tracking, the cost is ultimately very close to UPS. The difference here, is that with UPS, the package always stays in UPS hands through delivery. Once the package leaves the country, it is no longer in USPS hands. Some countries (not the UK) are shady and corrupt. Sorry, but I don't trust other local postal services. Hell, I hardly trust our own!
You'll also see that I have had a negative feedback left on my eBay account. I don't really care about feedback...but the buyer accused me of swindling him out of his money. He never bothered to contact me even once. I used UPS to ship and UPS International called me to say that his package was held up in customes. I sent him an email through eBay as well as through his PayPal payment receipt for his contact info so that he could spring his package from customs. I have the emails to prove attempted contact and a tracking number to prove the shipment. The chances are, he was too cheap to pay customs or the language barrier was too much of an issue.
I insure what I ship for the full value, because if it gets lost or anything happens, I'm the one who loses out. I see no reason to take it in the rear because the rest of the world is too cheap to pay customs or high international shipping fees. I don't make the shipping prices up. A lot of times I lose money on shipping. I'm not even going to get into the pathetic American dollar....
So don't slag me when you don't know the whole situation.
I'm a reasonable guy. If you really want the item, email me and we can work it out. Not shipping international cuts out some of the riff raff that I've had to deal with lately.
That being said, none of these issues have been from the UK and nearly all of my Brit dealings have been great.
(though I have been lowballed once on the OnZa's by a Brit thus far)
Good?
