So a few weeks ago I had the opportunity to purchase this 2014 Orange Gyro Frameset from @letmetalktomark who I have been riding with so had seen the bike all built up. Now I’ve a collection of Oranges and also boxes of spare parts so it wasn’t too difficult to get it built up from my spare parts bin. The hurdle I had to overcome was the difficulty in finding a non-boost rear wheel for the spacing. Thank you to Bankrupt Bike Parts for coming up good with a Non-Boost Formula Rear Hub for under £20. I put my wheel building skills to use and swapped out the rear hub from a WTB 29 which was boost and heypresto a wheelset which works. So Sunday was it’s shakedown ride, a nice run out to High Lodge Thetford Forest and Brandon Country Park and 13’miles later and all was good with the Gyro, infact better than good as I smashed some of my times on sections of the route I had ridden many times before on other bikes (*According to Strava) anyway here it is and takes my Orange collection to 7.

Spec - Set up tubeless Continental Crossking tyres 2.2 rear and 2.4 front, running 1 x 10 (32t front and 11-46t rear) Deore Group-set, 120mm travel front (Rockshox Recon) and rear (Rockshox RCT-3 Monarch) WTB Rims laced to non-boost rear Formula Hub, Front laced to boost Formula Hub) Gusset Bars, Selcof Stem, DMR Grips & Saddle. Orange/Strange Seatpost & Hope Seatpost Clamp. Brakes 4pot Pro24.

Nice! Always fancied a Gyro and had a frame once but never built it up! A real XC weapon I'd imagine?
Hi chap, it is super comfy for long days out on the trails, a few weeks back I chalked up a 55’mile epic on it for the ‘RSPB Go Wild’ event in Suffolk, which takes in the Viking trail and Bacton Wood, Rendlesham Forest, and it rode like a dream.
