FS : Orange Prestige

Completely agree with Nic on this one, for the quality of components and frame the price sounds fair enough – besides I think we can all trust Johns opinion on pricing, he has be at this game for a while now

As has been previously said, all retro pricing is subjective - the majority cannot be quantified or qualified other than against the limits of our own wallets (and credit facilities!). Would we really pay the monies that we pay for bits of 10-20 year old metal if it were any other way?

I'm not quite sure I see the difference between "I'm interested but the price seems a bit high" or "The price seems a bit high, how about £xxx", but at the end of the day it's John's site and he puts a lot of effort into it so his rules are his rules. I'm free to go elsewhere if I feel John is being unreasonable, which I don't.

So someone, buy the bike for the quality components (and probably worth the money) .... and give me first refusal on the frame

My word, how did my ad come to this

Anyhow the rules and guidelines have come about from user feedback and discussion between the mods. We've put them in place to hopefully keep trading safe and corteous.

A few conservative prices for arguments sake.

XT headset £5
Titec bars £10
ss7 levers £15
Deore2 thumbies £20
xt cantis £20
bullseye hubs on mavic 231 £80
XT mechs £40
USE post £20
Flite £20
DX spuds £15
middleburn cranks (and rings I think). £40

TOTAL £285

You've just bought an orange clockwork frame and forks, BB, stem, etc for £15, if anything it's worth buying to break and make a few quid for your project.

Very fair price but too far away for me.

Indeed! Plus the frame is a prestige so double bonus!

Giggle.
"We've put them in place to keep trading courteous." Which is lucky, as it means we won't be seeing any replies like "thanks for your comments genius."
I'll get me coat and head off to singletrackworld.
