Just a rant, I'm sorry as I really need to vent!
OK, on the face of it they're a lovely young couple with a baby kid, they're in the converted flat above mine. None of us (us two down here and the two on the top floor) have had any problems with them in anyway, bar with the bins!
I've politely asked the new neighbours twice to start recycling as they're filling up the main bin before my flat or the couple in the top flat have even had a look in. It's largely packaging and things that can go straight into the recycling bins, it's straight forward. But they're still not doing it and it's PISSING ME OFF!
*and breathes*
I put the bins out weekly (main bin one week, recycling the next and so on) and have to put the over flow from the main bin into garden refuse sacks (cos they're larger and stronger than normal refuse bags) these bags are being paid for of my own pocket. More oft than not the local foxes and god knows what else have scavenged in the tidied up supermarket carrier bags left by the new couple that are piled up next to the overflowing bin. When that happens I don my 'lovely yellow marigold gloves' and pick all that crap up as well, Margot Leadbetter I am most certainly not! (Bags full of used nappies are acky as well I add).
Now I can't ignore the issue, if I leave their refuse it will just build and attract vermin. I've rinsed out the main bin with bleach twice cos of fly strike ('maggots' to you and me) which was absolutely 'delightful'. And the council will not supply a second main bin either (and nor am I forking out to buy one - me and the top floor flat have done that already only to have the new bin nicked
).
