Greetings to all.
Just wanted to briefly introduce myself.
I'm living in USA (New England Area) but I'm a frequent UK rider and MTB item collector since my bro moved to NW London in 2001. In my early 20's I raced as a NORBA Semi-Pro (Privateer Pro) throughout the early 90s, but now I'm older/chunkier, but still riding and loving my classic steel MTB & road rides. Here is a pic of on of my last remaining MTB racers from my "glory...6th was my best finish in 5-yrs...days" This was/is my personal favorite and I've kept it alive for all these years.
It's a Mountain Goat Whiskeytown Racer built from the highly coveted Tange Ultimate Ultralight Prestige. This is a pic from 3 seasons back when it was built-up as a SS (Please note the 176mm Curve Crankset & the original "Dirt Bag").
At the end of last season, on a recommendation from Jeff @ Mtn Goat, I sent bike to Sycip to be re-furbished. Bike is now dark blue and it has disc tabs and corresponding cable routing. I hope you like it.
Best Regards
JE

Welcome to retrobike :D

Always interested to see race pics from back in the day. What did you ride early 90s?

Nice looking Goat, have one very similar. Is it dark blue or green, hard to tell on my screen. Interested to see a picture of the bike as it is now.

John, I Thank you for the nice words. In the 90's I was calling the San Francisco Peaks home while completing University in Flagstaff Arizona and most of my riding was done in my "mountain backyard". When riding w/friends I was on a beat-up late 80's Mongoose or a 1991 Salsa Ala Carte. When racing I rode on Brodie bikes exclusively (Sovereign/Expresso), but Paul Brodie turned his company over to Cybersport in '94, stopped welding customs, & then he left. The new Brodie turned to aluminum and I jumped ship and rode this "British Racing" dark green Goat in 1995.
I will take pics of Goat as it looks now and I'l post very soon
Regards
Jay
