I'm going to be no help whatsoever; I like both of those. :D

Likewise!
I do like that Look frame a LOT!
I'm tempted to go for it - would it be worth it? anyone know more about this particular frame?

Any other or alternative (high end pre 98) parts in mind? Forks?
If you can't find (or stretch to) Look Fournales, or Hurrycat linkage weirdness...which both go for around £350-£400 for a NOS set these days  ...how about DF racing:

There are various versions, elastomer, air oil, long travel etc. pretty cheap for some fancy French CNC work, £100?

All the best,

Very flash! I wonder how this looks like on a frame built up?
And the weight?

"Fugly forks which I think spoil it" if you think that then don't look at the Hurrycat Vorace (would put fugly and complex over the top). I'm a sucker for those weird linkage forks and they work reasonably well. I guess the Sunn Obsys Carbon would do the job (has only something like 50mm travel though).

Re:

I have a Sunn, here it is built up with LX M563 along with P2 forks,

Along with the build thread,

viewtopic.php?f=21&t=302381&hilit=SUNN

Ride is lovely, quite light, very Kona-ish but without being as common.

Standard practice would be to use Sunn Obsys forks, sometimes prone to failure apparently, along with V-brakes, 8 speed Gripshift, Race Face cranks and Brubz parts.

Here's a spec sheet if you want to be specific,

viewtopic.php?f=21&t=128140&p=2372692&hilit=SUNN#p2372692

I have the ESP 9.0sl Gripshift and V-brakes should the mood take me. But I think I'll pass on the forks.
As for Brubz parts, I don't see them very often.

Not sure about Look, given a choice I'd go for a Sunn.

Mike

Your Sunn shines very bright even though it's black!
Beautiful bike! And had a nice browse through your build thread!

The search goes on!

Re:

Thank you, it's one of my favourites! A '98 Revolt with Fuji tubing, they also made a Revolt GP, with some flex in the rear end, softail style

Good luck with the search mate

The Look is nice looking but I heard somebody in a thread mentioning that they're as heavy as boat anchor (not sure if it's true though). Their new carbon fiber MTB stuff is pretty light though. Sunn high end frames are a little more interesting to me.

I concur, Been researching and the Sunn range seems like a better bet - I'm narrowing it down slowly - but it all obviously depends on availability - been searching the Sale forums here with no luck. And the Look is over priced too I think.
