freewheel removal problem

that's my problem - I already have the tool, but since it won't go over the locknut and these are C-record hubs, I also have the problem of getting the dust cap off without damaging it so that I can take the axle out.

Sorry, I missed the bit where you said you had the tool. I'll look at mine in the morning, what size gap do you have to play with?

well my homemade c-record dustcap puller worked perfectly! I didn't take the axle out of the hub to get at the freewheel splines yet, but that shouldn't be a problem...

That's a good copy of the tool.

Back in the day, I didn't get any C-Record hubs because of the dustcaps and another tool needed, so I stuck to the N Records which I still use now.

I wouldn't call it a good copy... but it did the job just fine, and much cheaper than the original!
