Sort of road related, if small commuting wheels count :)

I've just added a Moulton specific ti glide that came with a half size freehub. Its bnib and this is the original freehub.
The pattern on the freehub appears and fits a shimano cassette, but there only looks like theres enough room for 4 or 5 cogs.
The locking thread is also on the outside, rather than the normal today inside. I have to admit knowing zero about early 5 speed cassettes, especially with this external locking thread.

Years ago the lbs had a large board on the wall with single cogs, and spacers. Is this the tye of freehub you did that with ?, built up your own choice, spaced and a wide nut or something to hold it all tight.

Re:

Wasn't there a Shimano DX hub for
BMX similar to this?

Looks too small for a BSA BB lockring to fit.

Re:

Just thought, there is a good chance a Middleburn RS7 lockring would fit that.

Are all the splines the same width? If so, it probably is Uniglide. The Dura Ace variant had a smaller threaded section on the end to accommodate at 12t lock cog instead of the usual 13t which was the smallest that would go over the normal Uniglide thread. AFAIK all Uniglide cassettes were separate cogs and spacers, so for this you probably just pick 4 ratios to go with your 12t lock cog.

I'll pop up a better pic, but the splines on the freehub are even except for he single thin one. I put a shimano cog off a standard cassette on it, which fits fine. Looks like a shimano, except for the outer locking nut.

Have you tried a track hub lock ring ?

I've not tried anything. I was going to ask a mechanic who worked in the shop with the cog board. He's know and im hoping still has the board  but i reckon he might even have a lockring spare.

Aye, I mind seeing one of those. :D be another avenue. I'll find out those bmx freehub dimensions and compare. I was a wee bit concerned due to the age it would be difficult to get the spacing right.

Cheers but it's for the shelf, and I like to keep it all spec 8)

Cheers for all the help. I'd visions of it all being long discontinued hens teeth.
