Frame ID help needed!

Just won this frame and fork off of eBay. Some unusual features caught my eye. Fillet brazed frame, numerous braze ons including a guide wheel for the cable on the bb, 27.2 seat tube and campagnolo dropouts. Plan is to get it finished at C&G and build it up as a leisurely bike to go out the pub, nice sunny Sundays etc with the wife! Done a bit of research but can't find any info as of yet. BB stamped 122, rear dropout and fork steerer share the number 1402.

Love to know your thoughts. Thanks

I must of spent 5 hours the past few days searching the internet for a similar frame, certainly looks of similar construction to some Claud Butlers and even some Mercians ( That would be a nice!) and it was purchased from Derbyshire! But I'm yet to see a frame that has the braze on cable wheel on the BB shell. Has anyone seen this before? And has anyone a bike with a similar frame number?

Looks to me about 1950, with later braze ons and ends. In the early post war period the bronze weld construction was very popular due to the difficulty of getting components, and the limited angles available in standard lugs.
So there were hundreds of workshops who could have made this.
If the number is significant then quite a quantity for a small retailer, so probably supplying the trade.

Pics of seat cluster might help, also gas holes either end of the top tube.

Here's a few more pictures but I'll take some more when I get the frame, hopefully on Monday. The seller did say there's a hole on the underside of the top tube, dead in the center.

Although the 2.75 inch forkrake is typical 1948/50, the whole frame now looks more like 1960, someone specified a long fork. Obvoiusly well made, and in good condition.

Keith' what is the wheel for on the bottom bracket? I have come across plenty of them but always on the right hand side for gear cables or sturmey archer cables.

Classy looking frame' seat bolt looks a little more modern than the rest?

Apparently the front a rear mech that I've bought along with the bike is 1st gen campagnolo gran sport if that helps

Ah! Didn't the first matchbox type campag front much pull from the left so that would make sense.
