Note also the seller's Suntour XCD items, taken off this frame.

The frame and parts are identical to those in the 1990 catalogue, but many people who own what appear to be 1990 Konas believe they are 1989 - does anyone know whether the 1989 and 1990 bikes were the same?

I want it! i want it! I want it!

Anthony, what size is this (based on his 15" centre to centre measurement)?

Why, why, why must people get these immaculate, original bikes, and then strip them down and sell the parts separately... :( Should be a criminal offence IMO...

I agree that makes me a bit angry. Can't believe he has stripped a 1988 bike of the pristine parts it's had for 20 years. :x

I dont like the idea of parting out original classics either but If you need top dollar for it - we all know its the way to go.

Still a shame tho.

Hell, when I retire to the sunny balearics I' will probably part the excess rides out to fund my sangria & Calimucho addiction

I think it must be size 18, although bear in mind the early bikes were half an inch shorter in the top tube than the ones from 1994 onwards, so in effect it's slightly on the small side of what we now know as an 18.

Because people are willing to pay such stupid prices for old bike bits these days that you can make more money by splitting?
