Favourite ride/s in 2014

Re:

.

For me it's two ride's, both for different reasons, one of them is a weekend with camping, the other a mountain adventure...

I'll post links to the aftermath threads for those interested as their pic heavy.

First is the mountain adventure, this was a ride I have wanted to do for a long time and its every thing I could of hoped for
and more...

This ride was the perfect (for me) ride of the year..

Second, and just as enjoyable.. was the Yorkshire National weekender
This is (to me) the time you can show your best trails and hospitality and in return see happy faces and meet new friends.
Sounds cheesy... but it I enjoy it

This was the perfect weekender..

Re:

No flowery words to describe the pain, or fancy mood shots to illustrate the gloomy fog, but..... Cannock Chase, fully rigid and 2x8 vs modern full suss and 3x9... the hatred i felt towards my fitter, younger ride partners as they kindly waited for me every 30minutes, only to set off again once on their tail (bastards).. the gritty mud navigating its way into my ballsack meaning i spent the last hour and half standing up (and for the next 3days, aloe vera baby wipes were my best friend) .. was only beaten by the pride and glee at sprinting past them (and others) tucked down and arse up (did I mention the grit?) on the long fire road section, bouncing, jumping and maualling from ridge to gully and over rocks. For that brief few minutes, retro (and I) were King

normal service was resumed about 30seconds after reaching the bottom
