eroica veterans advice needed

What would be the plan with that then, pullingteeth.....I am the same one, but I stopped checking the L'Eroica thread on there as it was making me kick myself harder!

I was planning to go to Ireland for a short 4/5 dady mini tour, wildcamping, instead.......unless.....?

eroica

oops , i just checked the website and it states that you cannot take the place of another rider, but there is an address to email.Perhaps if you email them , explain the circumstances they could hold a 100 euro entry for you?

I've emailed them lots!
I couldn't get there till lateish Saturday at the earliest, so I cant run the risk of not gettin the €100 place..... I was goin to just go anyway and chance it, but I'll wait till next year and do it properly..... I even tried to enter as an over 60!

:0)

FWIW the course is a permanent, so there's no restriction on riding it on the day - you just wouldn't get your card stamped and get all the finishing freebies. The atmosphere and events in Gaiole is worth visiting alone. Food points are a free-for-all too. If anyone is under the illusion that the course is mildly 'rolling' they're in for a shock, particularly the dirt-road climb up to Montelcino, plus the 'bumps' after Asciano. Best strategy is to take it steady from the off, find a group and enjoy the atmosphere - I would certainly recommend an early start as it's quite magical riding up to Brolio in the dark with the candles lining the road through the trees.

Lovely bike.

Interestingly I have a Concorde in *exactly* that colour scheme, less the upper chromed stay, which it is just sprayed over.

Not so suprising I suppose when Ciocc are said to have manufactured Concorde frames.

Very similar, I've heard that before about Concorde , a friend has one and the lugs are very similar.
What tubing is yours?
Definitely the same spray job, different stickers.

My bike's ready to go now. I managed to pick up a 50:36 ring combo for my Campag Victory and a 13-26 screw on block all at the Ripley jumble. My attempts to lay off the pies have failed, so I'm hoping my gears will help out.

I'm on 23mm clinchers so I guess I'm in for a treat! Too late to do anything about it now...

Going for the event in 2012,those chaln rings would be of interest to me should you consider flogging after this years run

Is there a gradient profile for the course knocking about inside the internets anywhere? I was in Tuscany for the first time a couple of weeks back and the hills look well into Derbyshire Peaks territory, if not bigger.
