Yes, the NOS is a often well misused term.
My opinion is if its been taken out the box and whether its been built onto a show bike or bounced around the tool box for a while it is not then NOS. Jamie

Heres one I did by accident: Sold an amplifier, buyer didnt pay for days. Cancelled everything, relisted but then thought 'nuts to ebay' and withdrew it. Original buyer paid via paypal about a day later...

I've not sold anything on ebay for near on 4 years now due to ebay & paypal fee's :roll: They ain't getting rich from me no more.

Pretty much the same for me Ian, the bills got stupid at times.

Its the original buying that you need to control. Ask yourself do you really really want it. I mean really want it.Its not the risk of getting conned that is the problem its the costs.Firstly you loose the postal costs to you when you buy it and then if you decide you can do without it you loose another 14% in fees on the way out.I have stuff that I could do without but its staying where it is.Just far too annoying to throw more cash at e bay.

It's been about the same amount of time for me too, though my reasons were more related to buyers being picky, unrealistic idiots.
Just before I left the UK I had a clearout of everything that we couldn't justify shipping to the US. This included my wife's stereo system, comprising of some really nice mid-range Denon stuff. The Amp sold in a heartbeat, but the CD player had a faulty drawer that would not open 90% of the time. All other functions on this unit worked, and it sounded wonderful. So I listed it at 99p, full disclosure on the drawer fault, spares or repair, sold as seen, no returns, etc. Ends at twenty quid. Bloke who buys it sends it back to me a week later saying, "I had my repair shop look at it and it's going to cost £40 (which is more than I paid for it) to fix the drawer, so I'm returning it to you."
This is on a £300 CD player that was still available to buy new. If I hadn't been caught up in the general logistical nightmare that is moving ones life to another continent, I would have happily drove to this berk's house and punted the CD player through his living-room window. I raised a complaint, but eBay instantly sided with the buyer. eBay is the very bottom of the barrel as far as I'm concerned, run by and for scumbags and littered with fake and misdescribed crap. I can get by (and still find nice old rare things to buy and sell) without it.
