Yeah, Im also sick of sellers with 10k+ feedback selling stuff for £10 more than I can buy it on wiggle!

Gone are the days when Ebay was about clearing out your attic :(

"not to be confused with Ringle"

quote]

Just to play devils advocate: I'm personally fed up with with searching for, say, Pace, and getting: 'Lovely Halfords Apollo bike - not to be confused with Pace, Yeti, Intense etc...' just to grab the keyword searches. No offence but that's a cheap trick and would not tempt me into buying your whatever-it-is when i specifically searched for Ringle. In fact it down right puts me off - even if you're selling what I actually want!

I'm sure your gear is good, so why not trust in the fact that anyone searching for retro gear already knows exactly what they want? Or just describe the characteristics of the gear itself?

totally agree, ive never used any key word spamming in nearly 700 sales.

I tend not to even open any title with keyword spamming in it, even if it may be something i'm looking for, i hate it.

It was just an example of how things are going with ebay.co.uk, if you get yourelf over to ebay.de you'll get the listings for stuff like Tune cranks, the heading for the item will read

"TUNE CRANKS, YETI, RINGLE, GRAFTON, FAT CHANCE"

Now to me that's key word spamming.

Recently, and my main gripe is that they pulled an auction because i'd put a link in it to bikepro's website! If they pull an auction if someone's complained, who the f*ck has something against a website that's only there for refernce on old kit.

When you click on links to various merchants on this site and make a purchase, this can result in this site earning a commission. Affiliate programs and affiliations include, but are not limited to, the eBay Partner Network.
Keyword spamming

Hi all
Keyword spamming is against ebays policy and is not allowed so they say.
I recently had a listing for my Merckx removed because I put "as new" in the description. I was told it was keyword spamming. The bloody thing only had 20 miles on it and as new was a description not spamming.
I sent them a rather blunt email stating this and stating how every second thing on ebay cycles is spammed yet they are allowed. They replied that they cant catch most things so people must complain in order to alert them to it.
To the wa**er who complained about my merckx, Thank you as I kept it :D
Do a search for specialized and you get evrything under the sun, with the usual not specialized, giant, orange etc.
Thats my morning rant and now onto a good day :D
Jamie
