Early - mid 80s Norco Dumpster Dive

Had a chance to strip down the Norco this weekend. Some interesting parts which I'll share more on later. The bullmoose stem/bar is a Nitto uncut unit which is nice.

Frame serial# is T6A92632. I believe after some searching the 2nd digit "6" means 86', 1st "T" is the maker and "A" is January. Nice brazed cable guides

I like this little cable guide ring on the side of the U-Brake boss

Does anyone know what these two bits brazed to the top of the drive side chainstay are?

Overall a pretty fine frame produced from one of our best Canadian brands I'd say
Umm...methinks thems for holding a couple of spare spokes!

Ah beaten by a big cheese...👍

It's my favourite era of the mtb scene, there was no Internet, cycling magazines for the off roader were still few and far between and there was no pressure when out bicycling.

Intresting Bike.
I think that 1986 sounds indeed like the correct date.

Norco had at least a while ago some history section at their webpage, better as from what i can see they do have today.
This pic was shown with the comment that first ATBs or MTBs have been introduced by Norco in 1984

There are also some more threads about those early bikes with the iconic fork like this one.
with a very small pic of a catalog
