Early - mid 1990s Gary Fisher Tassajara

Retro Newbie
Hi all, first post ever on a forum of anything so please forgive any lack of protocol!

I have an old Gary Fisher Tassajara in my shed that I'm keen to get a value on / sell. I think it's around 1995, with a couple of years either way possible. I bought it as new from Butlers Cycles in Portsmouth (which as you may know went on to become that small company Wiggle).

It's a burnt orangey colour and has all it's original components, which are all/mostly Shimano components. I'm not sure as I haven't had a chance to clean it all up and catalogue (that's also why there are no photos yet!).

The frame generally seems in good condition on quick inspection, nothing I don't think some proper TLC would sort out (probably just one small step up from a damn good wash!).

I look forward to any help / replies.

Jim

Sounds like a 1996 "matt copper" colour:

As such it was a fairly low end bike then, and whilst they ride nice (used to have a Marlin) I'm afraid Gary Fisher's just dont have a great appeal to many as a retro bike. If it is pretty tidy with just a regrease needed and all otherwise running then I would guess at £70-100. Even if it were really mint, dont think you would be looking at much more to be honest.

I'd just clean it up and take it for a ride.

Re:

thanks for that, will strip it and clean it and try and get something for it on ebay. i don't need to take it for a ride as i have something much nicer now!
