For frame weight comparison the white frame is 58x57 C-C Merckx 3-Athlete with Reynolds 501DB and the cherry red frame is 59.5x57 C-C with Tange Champion NO.1(the seat tube is most likely Champion 2 tubing as the ID is 26.8mm and the frame is on the larger side).

I was looking at the 1988 "Tange Frame Components System" catalog and both the Tange no. 1 and no. 2 tubesets used the same 0.9-0.6-0.9 DB seat tube. Stated weight for the framesets is 2220g for the no.1 and 2290 for the no.2

Worst damage is on the top tube. I'll need to clean the rust off, put some rust stopper and paint over with "Ferrari red".
I think those small holes where the rust has eaten under the chrome are nothing to worry about, but comments are always welcome.

It's been raining here for every other day for the past nine months and I have to paint/work outside so I have many projects on hold...

I have complete SR/NR groupset for this and if there is interest I can take pictures of the parts as I clean them.

Don't know if the chrome would polish to a mirror finish? I've been thinking about stripping the fork and maybe the rear triangle off of the paint and leaving them to bare chrome.

Or not... I forgot the chrome has partly flaked off from all the dropouts and it would look weird if I painted the only the dropouts. Maybe only the raised part around the mouth?

I did the stupid thing and colour matched the reds in the store using a picture of the frame on my phone and having tested the paint the "ferrari red" is too light.

Going to paint the whole frame. Only pitting was on the top tube, but I just had to check under every part with bubbly paint. It will not be good paintjob as I can't be bothered with sanding the surface smooth around the parts where the chrome has flaked off.
