I wanted to remove the anodizing from some parts so.........
I asked my missus to get me some caustic soda when she was at the hardware store buying paint. She came back with drain unblocker - she couldn't find any caustic soda and the chap told her it had caustic soda in it..
I thought okay I may as well try it - what can go wrong?!?!
I wanted to remove the purple from some machinetech cantis so i mixed it up and in they went!! Well it didnt look like anything was happening so I fished them out and into the cooling off bucket.
Came out a bit black but looking clean - some wet and dry 1200grit paper later and they were really shiny!! But, the best thing - It actually didnt remove the laser etched logo like caustic does!!
So I tried it on some cooks cranks and it did the same!!
