Doh ! ebay woes....

Unlucky, most ebayers are sensible folk, but you always get one or two scheming whingers.
The guy who bought the frame is just being a tool, he knows it was an error in the listing for sure and just wants to try it on. tell him to jog on and just accept the -ve feedback.
Lesson learnt eh?!

Send a message saying it's damaged, or you've lost one, and most ebayer's are more than happy too accept that, i've had too do it twice..

If an online retailer makes a pricing error (Amazon did recently with a lens I ordered in the hope they would honour the price) they just say sorry it was an error and cancel the order

Can't see its any different in your case, bloke must be daft to think you are going to sell it to him for 99p

Sure it will all come out in the wash

There have been cases in the past where things have been intentionally sold at silly prices..
Obviously this isn't one of them and I hope you get it sorted satisfactorily Keith..

There was one a while back.. woman whose hubby was a radio dj found out he was cheating so she done a BIN listing for his Lotus Esprit Turbo for something daft like £50 as long as the buyer collected before the hubby finished his night stint on the wireless :lol

Well..rang Ebay and explained the situation...there is nothing they can do, but have made a note on my account stating it was an obvious error..though i will have to suffer negative feedback if the buyers feel it necessary.

Ther guy that bought the Klein is still trying hard to get the frame...I have cancelled his payment several times, and apologised countless times.

The guy who bought the wheels is from the other end of the spectrum thankfully.

Here's a message i recieved this morning..

Dear 888kt,

Hi Keith. Who's a silly boy then! Fear not, I jumped on your wheels for you before one of the comedians spotted it and gave you a hard time (as you may have guessed when I didn't drop the funds into yer Paypal account). Sorry about the delay getting in touch - I've been out all night. Anyway, no probs cancelling, as I say, I only bid to save you any grief. All the best, Richie.

I salute you Sir, for saving me from myself...

Take the negative hit from the frame guy.. 1 neg is nothing to stress about imo.

Stop apologising to him, once or twice is most definitely enough ;)

Tell him that you won't cancel his payment any more and that, if he pays again, he'll have to raise a paypal dispute (goods not received) to get his dosh back.

Keep all the emails/messages ;)

That's what I'd do anyway 8)

What a top bloke!

Making up an excuse like "its been stolen" because the bids stay low is poor form.

So what crossmax's are they ? I am in the market for some ...

Just for info I bought some Marin forks on the bay (thankfully the search is now over  ), I bid fairly, won them at a good price (stupid cheap but cant remember what) only to get a refund and an email a few days later saying they were bent (even though I had asked this up front) :( Clearly the guy didnt want to sell them at the price I bid and made up some crap to give me a refund. Not selling me the forks didnt piss me off so much as the crap he fed me, I would rather him have been honest :D

Even so, I didnt leave him bad feedback as I had know way of knowing for sure ... :D

WD :D
