what happened to patriotism?

I'm getting sick of all the coverage, especially on the BBC news. I know it's state broadcasting but I wish they'd leave all the moron crap to Murdoch and Associated Newspapers.

The BBC's hands are tied, they are a notoriously lefty organisation and hence have blown all their (our) budget on absolute nonsense leaving no money left for anything worthwhile (like sport!).
Hence why the highlight of the BBC sporting calender is the boat race and, erm... comic relief?.
They have to go to town on something, so the Royal Wedding gets the full works.
Besides all that, the rest of the world does take (some) interest in these occasions and I have no problem with us showcasing our pomp and ceremony, Britain probably does it better than anyone in the world.

Dont forget that these occasions only tend to come around once every generation, and most reasonable people will take it on face value and sit back and enjoy the show. We dont have to 'bow down and serve' the Royal family, nor respect their freebie lifestyle, but personally I do respect history and the fact that many worthy causes benefit from such occasions and the royal's public interaction. Plus I respect human life and dont wish anyone to be 'burned', just becasue they were born into a fortunate position.

I agree whole heartedly with all the above....we related you reckon

However, my opinion on human sacrifice could potentially be swayed if it were staunch socialists to be thrown to the lions...

I think this could be going a bit far but I see where you are coming from

Unfortunately for some, we are all related. Its just a matter of perspective.

Maybe we should all take part in the upbringing of the tens of thousands of children the state is paying for then...afte all we are paying for it

Can't say I'm too bothered but I don't mind the top end of the royal family so good luck to 'em. The low end clingons get up my nose but this pair will probably be King and Queen one day so all the hype is only to be expected. Anyway, it'll make Grandma's up and down the country happy.

Best thing about the wedding is the double time I'll be getting at work

Marin Man, you are awful.

Did you get your things?

I am using it as an excuse for a barbecue a bike ride and an excuse to get drunk.

I would watch it but I'm otherwise engaged as above. I'm sure BBC 3 will repeat it later in the day. When I'll be busy watching paint dry. And Dave will have it on in about Three years when I'll miss it anyway.

Theres a program coming on about Miss Middleton's family.A fair mix of council tenants
That should be interesting to watch :?
