Dirt Research Bandelier

Cheers! It's been 5 days since I finished the build and it's still here :P Ridden it every day since too. A new crankset is on the way but this one hasn't budged yet.

Don't get over confident with that crankset Lynne although i'm pleased it's lasted this well so far and i'm really glad to see you enjoying the Bandelier so much as it obviously feels right for you and i bet you can't wait to fit the new crankset when it arrives so you can finally get out on it and push it to the limits and enjoy it's full potential ..

Although your little gem isn't my wifes favourite colour i can tell that she actually likes it so now i know what type of setup she likes so i'm practically their with what i have atm so it's basically just a 14"-15" frame that i need any way i'm eagerly awaiting to see your next update when the crankset arrives ;) ..

Sounds like it's gonna be a good one! This feels pretty similar to the little steel Konas I've owned previously but with one quite big difference - the headtube length on this one is a whopping (for a small frame) 110mm in length and iirc tiny Konas are 90mm, which coupled with the high stack headset and stem, and Renthal bars makes it feel like a big BMX 8)

Thanks Lynne , it's funny how you've already got that impression across regards how the little Bandelier feels in what you 1st wrote about riding it and it had struck me how the head tube looked quite big for the size of this frame so if i can't find another small frame with a longish headtube then i'll just have to use some longish forks to get the desired angle to give that sit up and beg position as the wife doesn't enjoy the racing position on a bike plus i'm in the middle of teaching her to ride a bike again after 57 years  so inspiring confidence is priority ..

Tbh i already got the impression from your Santa Cruz that you liked the old BMX setup and yes i think you've nailed that high handle bars position perfectly with the long headtube and high stack headset and those lovely Renthal bars although the bars on my wifes Kona ( Kaz's old karma Kona bike ) are not as high rise as the Renthal but the wife loves them so i'll probably end up using them and see how it goes ...
