This is a Trek 930 that I flipped about a year and a half ago. Other than the tires and seat It's basically all original. I thought you might like to see it either as a reference or an inspiration if you decide to build the trek. Honestly I personally would go with the Marin. I don't have a great reason. It's just my preference. Marins seem a little more special to me.

Thanks, that one looks in remarkable condition!

It really was. It seems to have been hanging in the original owners garage for most of its life and almost never ridden. I just picked it up for a quick flip. I replaced the saddle and tuned it. That was it. The guy I sold it to was really excited about it.

Almost forgot to update this. The Trek won the vote so I've built it up using parts I've got lying around and a couple of cheeky e-Bay purchases.

I had a quick no brakes ride around the garden and I don't like how it looks and I don't like how it rides 😒

Seat's too high, top tube's too short, stem's too long. Not sure what to do now 🤔

No worries man.

Maybe measure your inseam. Ask a buddy who you've known for a long time to help you. Lower the seat post and slide the seat rearward on its rails. Many people have short legs and long torsos 🙃 . Find a stem with a 5 degree rise and get rid of the riser bars for flat bars OR a stem about 20 mm shorter with no-to-5 degree rise plus flat bars

I probably worded my post badly. The seatpost is set where it needs to be for my height so I'm thinking the seat tube, top tube and head tube are all too short for me to comfortably use the frame.
